For this project we were told to take a few portrait photos of people with the camera vertically. This was very easy to accomplish. I have the camera in auto. I took a photo of a girl in my class and one of my sister and one of my boyfriend, Trunks.
For this project I decided to take photos of my friend Nick walking down the hall. It has taken me awhile to do these photos because I didn't understand for the longest time. I had to set my camera to manual with ISO around 800, shutter speed at 1/100, and aperture at 3.5. Knowing in the end I understood and figured this out was the best thing. It was actually very easy after I figured this out.
For this project we were told to have an object of color/a light source, easily able to move quickly and at a fast speed (mainly hand held). Have the camera at a low ISO, 1/4 shutter speed or even lower maybe, and an aperture of f 8.0 if you are trying recreate these photos. This project was actually very difficult to do. I struggled for an hour trying to just figure out my settings but it wasn't until I called a friend that I finally understood and completed this project correctly. I had fun at the end when understanding it all. I suggest you try this!
This weeks project was mainly a photo shop assignment. We were told to do two or three tutorial assignments. I chose to do the water in a lightbulb and water-head. Both were very fun and interesting to complete. While doing these assignments I became easily frustrated also and ran into a few problems along he way. Luckily I finished and had a good time doing this overall. The lightbulb was much easier to follow and complete. The water-head was lot for a beginner but in the end it was awesome to see the results. It was a lot of layer masking and cutting out and placing in the right spots but along with blending and erasing. I am happy to say that I am progressing a lot in photo-shop but I obviously am aware that I could use more practice though.
This week we were told by the teacher to do a multiple me assignment. This included a picture of the scenery and five pictures of something or someone doing different poses in different places. You then would upload the six photos into photo shop where you begin photo stack the images, this helps to keep them in there places. After you will begin to cut out your focus point in each photo with the lasso tool and then paste them in the scenery photo. Soon you will have something like this. I actually really enjoyed this project and would love to do it again. It was fun!
For this weeks photo project, I decided to do shadows & light. For my main framed photo, I chose a picture of my Great Dane outside with natural lighting. The rest of the pictures of other items located around my house. The third photo is a shadow of the stair railing on my porch, then a shadow of me in the backyard. While I was inside making something to eat, I saw this shadow of my mothers knife set and thought it was a perfect moment. I took a picture of my sunflower lamp which is my favorite piece in my room because it represents me, I took this photo because there are different amounts of lights appearing and shadows being shown. Lastly I look a photograph a light-bulb in my first period and it is showing a blended look of light and shadows.
This project was very fun and easy to do. It was a nice day when I decided to do this and I got a bunch of different shadow features. I hope in the future that I can become more experienced with light. For this weeks photography project, I chose to do black and white. I found some strengths when I was converting the photos into B & W because my dog, Sargent, is dark grey and white, the picture wasn't off very much and I was very happy with that. I also took a photo of the light post on my porch, it turned out aesthetic. For the third photo, I took a picture of my dog Tank and I wish that the same result with the first would've happened here but Tank is brown and was wearing a purple hoodie when this occurred. Lastly I converted my favorite picture from my nature unit into B & W, I also converted my favorite photo of Kara from the animal unit. I really enjoyed taking these photos and learning to convert photos.
In this week we were told to do a pano-graphic assignment and that is where you take multiple pictures of one thing like a house, without moving your feeting position. This project was difficult to me because when I imported the photos to photoshop, I had to rearrange the photos into one overall big picture. This was a hard project for me because I stopped and restarted multiple times because I felt that nothing as matching up. After trying for some time I came out with these two photos. The first is of Saline High School hallway and the second is of my house. I actually really enjoyed doing this once I got a grip of it. It doesn't need to be perfect aligned. For this project I chose to do nature and while it was cold, it was beautiful. I got a few shots of the snow with imprints of an animals feet prints and also trees, some close ups and some not. My favorite photo was the first one framed and this is because it is the road to my driveway but also all the subtle colors. I enjoy my close u of the tree branch and I believe that I am learning. Soon I would like to work more with photoshop to improve my skills.
For this weeks photo I chose to do macro which is an up-close picture shown In detail as where the background is blurry. My favorite photo was of a glass that looked cracked, I did a blue frame to tie into the photograph. The rest of my choices were miscellaneous items found around my room and a couple in the girls bathroom at Saline High. I hope to continue understanding and learning about photo types and more.
